It has been our pleasure to produce Get Outdoors Nevada Day each year for the communities around Southern Nevada!
The Outside Las Vegas Foundation (OLVF) is a collaborative, Las Vegas Valley organization dedicated to connect the community to Southern Nevada’s great outdoors through programs in education, volunteerism and outreach. Because our outdoor areas strengthen our economy and increase the local quality of life, OLVF works to create a community that learns from, gets inspired by and values our special outdoor places.
We work across neighborhoods and jurisdictions to:
Our goal is to provide the experience or opportunity that sparks your lifelong fascination with the great outdoors.
We invite you to join us and our partners for Get Outdoors Nevada Day as we explore, learn, volunteer, get outside and get moving to discover YOUR special outdoor experience!
History of GON Day
Outside Las Vegas Foundation (OLVF) was offered the helm to Get Outdoors Nevada and Get Outdoors Nevada Day back in 2014. In partnering with all of the jurisdictions around the Southern Nevada region, the idea was born to highlight, introduce and bring the community to a great outdoor place in a different city each year.
This much anticipated community event is a chance for people of all ages to get outside and celebrate all that we love about Southern Nevada’s Great outdoor places. From park and picnic fun with activities like rock climbing and fishing, to meeting outfitters and organizations featuring the latest in recreation opportunities. The event is a free and fun day out for the entire family.
In 2014, the event was held in North Las Vegas’ Craig Ranch Regional Park, then in 2015 it was held in Clark County’s Sunset Park, in 2016 it was held in the City of Las Vegas’ Lorenzi Park and for 2017 we look to the lovely City of Henderson at Cornerstone Park. The next park location will be announced at Get Outdoors Nevada Day October 7th, 2017.
